Evaluation Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
My Reader Profile
I did some research before I made my final products so that I could figure out who would be reading and I made this reader profile.

This shows that my audience would mostly be young girls aged 10 - 17. This means that most of them probably don't go to work therefore they wont have lots of money to spend on a magazine, This is why I made it quite cheap. I think this is a good target audience to have as the bright colours and fun, bold magazine are suitable for these people. The stories that I have included in my magazine are suitable for this audience because although it is a music magazine, some of the stories in it aren't music related because my target audience also have different interests such as clothes. make up and relationships. This is why I based some of my stories around these things because I know that is what they would like to read.
This is the answers to the survey that I did to help me get to know my audience.
Evaluation Question 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The artists I've shown are Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran and One Direction. You can tell that these people are pop artists straight away because they are nice to look at and most of them are wearing bright colours. The clothing they wear is also fashionable and relates to a young target audience because they dress in a similar way that would appeal to them. For example, Ariana is wearing a floral dress and this is something that looks pretty but also, younger people will look up to that and may even wear the same thing themselves as it is a part of her own clothing range. They also have a flawless image that younger people look up to and wish to look like themselves. They all appear to have clear skin because they are wearing a lot of full coverage make up to make them look perfect. Many photos are also edited to give this impression. They also almost always smile which makes them look happy and re-enforces their music as it is usually upbeat and uplifting.
When I did my audience survey, most people said that Beyonce was their favourite. This gave me inspiration for the artist that I created. I tried to make her look bold but also quite sophisticated. this goes against the stereotype of pop however I think it worked quite well. I did this by choosing a top for her that has bright colours such as pink and green on and also has a bold pattern of squares but also floral. Floral patterns are good for pop as they are seen as girly which makes it suitable for my target audience. I think the clothing was a good choice because it has a lot going on however it doesn't take the focus off anything else on the magazine.
Facial expressions
Most pop artists usually don't take themselves very seriously and this is shown through facial expressions. For example, they are often seen pouting or blowing kisses. These are the types of poses that I got my artist to do and I picked the best ones. They also smile a lot so they appear happy and fun. This is a good way to spread positivity other than through their music. It also makes them appeal to the target audience as they are young.
